Um... no.

We are just slightly to the right of the red stuff north of the I-65 sign in this picture. Yet, the baseball reps are refusing to cancel John's game tonight. (Supposed to start in one hour - do *you* see a clear spot coming in behind that in the next hour?)

It's been raining steadily since yesterday afternoon, folks! No other teams in the league are playing tonight, and we cannot figure out why on earth they won't cancel this one. However, we just had thunder that shook the entire house... I haven't seen lightning yet, but that doesn't mean I won't.

No, we're not going. Don't care if it's a tournament. Don't care if it's a "big game". This is a lesson in prioritizing. And, from the looks of it, making sure the flashlights all have good batteries!

***UPDATED***
They cancelled the game at the eleventh hour. If we'd planned to go, we'd have already been on the road to get there. *whew* Good call, refs! Good call! ;-)

G'night! Kiss those babies!

Good call. And I'm sorry to learn I don't live in the only town where love of sports overrides good sense.

Awww.... that storm doesn't look too bad! Kansans probably wouldn't even run for their basements for that. ;)

Here, it could be raining and blowing, but as long as there's no lightning, the game is ON!

I will never understand that.....

I'm with you! Hang out at home and relax.

Wow, someone has his head in the sand! I hope you get to enjoy the storm and don't lose power (or at least not for very long - a short power outage is always fun, I've thought *grin*)

Sometimes ya gotta call it like ya see it! Good for you for making an "executive decision." 'Cause as The Mom, you are *the* head-honcho mondo-executive!

Man, you have no idea how much I miss that kind of weather :( Weather in New England is so BORING! Not a single thunderstorms---either it's cloudy, it's rainy, it's snowing, or it's clear. I hope you enjoyed your thunderstorm---from the safety of your house instead of outside clutching aluminum bats :)

Now that's a teachable moment, don't ya think?

My coworkers son had a tournament game on Mother's Day this year, early morning. They drove the hour plus to get there, and the game had been canceled. The "caller" didn't think they had time to call everyone? Guessed they would figure it out when they got there? Oy...the family tried to take her to brunch on the way home and all the places they tried had several hour waits. Oh dear...she was sure wishing for the sweet years of kid made breakfast in bed.

Create a great day! Thanks for sharing,

P

Good call!
Last time I was sure a game would be rained out, it turned out that where the game was being played, about a half hour's drive from our house, it wasn't raining at all.
Glad you saved yourselves a wasted drive in rotten weather!
