Cool Celtic Resource

Well, it looks interesting. I, obviously, do not know enough to know what to do with this information. But maybe one of you will. :-) At any rate, you can hear words pronounced, and that should make our Celtic Legends read-alouds go Much. More. Smoothly.

One of my very favorite sites!

Just keep in mind thats only for Scottish. If you are looking for Irish or Welsh or all three try here:

Is math sin! (Ish-mah-shin...means that's good)

How was the doctor visit? Feeling better?

Oh, my goodness, Mere! Thank you! How wonderful!

Doctor visit - eh, no clue on the diarrhea, but left w/ a strep diagnosis for John. :-( I imagine it will make the rounds. Fortunately, the doc said just call if it does.

Boo hiss on the strep. Hopefully it won't spread. At least it's treatable and not meningitis!

I just revisited that site and got lost in it...listening to Welsh and Gailidgh (I just mangled that spelling I think.) Fun stuff!

Have you tried mythmatical battles with your kids? They are multiplication flash cards which have Celtic/Egyptian/Norse/Greek heroes/gods/monsters on them.

Here is the link to the site:

What made me think of it is that if you search around the site- ( try the educators button on the sidebar) you can find a pronunciation guide- which really helped me when I was reading celtic myths out loud.

Carrie's link reminded me of this:

Wendy Conklin and I used to go to church together. She specializes in gifted education and her online courses would be very suitable for homeschooled kids. I have not ever done a course through her, but I am sure it would be fabulous. She's a really neat lady.
