Oh no!! I can just imagine the result. We have particleboard cabinets (whoever came up with THAT idea???) under our sink. A month or two ago our pipes backed up and sprayed water EVERYWHERE. Even though we dried it out as much as possible immediately, parts of the particleboard became sawdust instead of board. Now we have mold under the sink that we have no idea how to get rid of. Speaking of which, how did you get rid of all your mold? Are we just going to have to rip out and replace the cabinets?
Oh, no! I've got the good mold-killing stuff around here. Key thing: don't use bleach. Bleach has mostly water, which, of course, breeds more mold. Odd. Anyhow, I'll look it up.
I don't know why they do the cabinet interiors in particle board. Well, I *DO*, but still. For what cabinets cost, you'd think they could throw in a solid bottom, huh?
We did foresee the whole water-resiliency thing when we decided to live w/ subfloors until this summer, and used deck paint on the floors back in November. The thing is, though, even that stuff isn't something we can mop. It's still too rough to use a swiffer on (tears up the cloth). So we wait for it to get pretty grungy and then do it on hands-and-knees with a scrub brush and a sponge. It's almost worth it... but I cannot wait for real flooring! LOL!
