A Work Day

First, we worked. We dug post holes. Emily drove the tractor. Emily found the cement water. Ack! We washed Emily off and put her back on the tractor. She didn't seem to mind.

We dug some more. Cleaned off the back porch. The front porch. The muddy shoes from the front porch (so that's where all the shoes have been!)

And then, having earned our keep for the morning, we settled in to enjoy the fruits of our labor with a picnic on the back porch!

The boys thought this was a pretty great way to start the morning. Me, too.

Kiss those babies!

Little Emily is so precious, and what a wonderful morning. I would love for us to be that productive before lunch.

LOL, Amy. We aren't usually. But there were horrible winds coming our way in the afternoon - winds strong enough to blow EmBaby away and make us all miserable. :-) So we worked in the AM and holed up that evening, instead.

Yummy, I would have to agree on that!

You have such a beautiful family. I know you truly cherish them!

These pictures of EmBaby (last two posts) are wonderful, Dy!

Could you send some of that warmer weather our way? I'm ready for spring:o(

I think that is a great way to start the day too. Yummmmm... strawberries. Does it get any better than that? Except maybe dipped in chocolate. But not in the morning.

Love that picture of Em on the tractor. She could be the poster child of Farm and Ranch Living. So intent on her mad driving skilz, she'll make a fine farm wife someday. And she'll fit right in with those overalls and flannel shirt. When I was little my mom (was too cheap to buy little girl clothes) dressed my sister and I in flannel shirts and boys jeans. Man we looked cute, but wearing boys clothes when you're ten doesn't equate to feeling very cool.

Next time we are in your neck of the woods, we're stopping by your house, Dy! You guys sure know how to have fun. The kids would have a blast. And... if you ever get to CA (or wherever I live by then), be sure and stop by our house too. There'll always be a bunkhouse with your guys' names on it.

Gorgeous pictures! Sounds like a great morning. Em's hair is so baby silky! I remember when Katie's was like that -- they grow so Fast!

Eating outside is the best!

I love the updates on your home projects. Did last night's rain stay away from your basement?

Aha! That's how you get them to work so hard. They are all hopped up on caffeine! :-)
